This documentation is a guidance for accessing and visulizing ESA’s Swarm mission data products using the Python package GeospaceLAB. The documentation is a part of the project “Extension of GeospaceLAB software package to support Swarm mission”, supported by Swarm-DISC.
GeospaceLAB is an open source Python package, which provides a unified, standardized framework to access, visulize, and analyze data in Space Physics Cai et al., 2022. Using GeospaceLAB, users can easily download and load data from supported online providers/sources and combine different data for visulization.
For Swarm mission, GeospaceLAB currently supports 30 data products in the listed in the categories of “Ionosphere/Magnetosphere”, “Thermosphere”, “Space Weather”, and “Magnetic measurements” in the Swarm Product Data Handbook. The full list can be found in Table 1 in Overview.
Check out the following pages for more details on using GeospaceLAB to access and visualize Swarm data products. Furthermore, you can combine Swarm data with other datasets supported by GeospaceLAB, e.g., from AMPERE, DMSP, and SuperDARN, to conduct comprehensive studies of space physics and space weather.
